It's been years since I've gone out for New Year's Eve and gotten dressed up and this year is no different. I'll be at home, eating greasy finger foods, drinking cheap champagne, and hoping I make it up till midnight to see the ball drop. There's a very good chance I won't since: a) I'll be at work today and b) midnight is way past my bedtime.
Happy New Year!

What is it about social workers having to work all the days before the holiday? We're going out to dinner but our reservation is at 8, so I am sure I will be back home and in bed way before the ball drops.
ReplyDeleteHaha, midnight is way past my bed time too. I hope you have a great day at work and that you make it to 12! That's a really awesome look for going out. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I have to work today too :( There is a nap in my future... and sequins!
ReplyDeleteI took today off so maybe I can stay up till midnight :)))
ReplyDeleteI'm at work today too, but I always force myself to stay up and celebrate lol Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I hope you have a wonderful New Year and manage to stay awake until 12:01! :)

I love spending New Year's at home - too bad when I do I can't get my husband to watch all the tv festivities. We've had small gatherings at home for NYE which have been some of my favorites. I think it sounds fabulous to be at home! :)

I love that you are honest about your New Years plans, we will be doing the same :) no sparkly dress and fancy night out for me, and I'm totally ok with that :)

LOL you sound like me! We keep it low key for New Years too. We are having a pizza night with one other couple, but we'll play board games and keep it simple. And I too hope I can simply make it to midnight!
ReplyDeleteThe ONLY reason we go out is because it's my husband's birthday- we are also home and in pjs by midnight- drinking cheap champagne and eating greasy finger foods! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I am in the same boat as you! Take out Chinese food and hoping I can make it to midnight. Glad to know I am not the only one!

ReplyDeleteI go over my boyfriend's aunt's house every year all dressed up to eat some grapes (Spanish tradition) and watch the ball drop indoors. This year will be no different. :)

This makes me smile! I'm thrilled to know I'm not the only one who can't remember the last time I went out on New Years....actually I think it was when I was in Vegas, and I went bowling :) Enjoy your last day of 2012!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen Mine Became Ours
I'm currently sitting at work, as well. Today is definitely a sequins kind of day, though. I love the booties. I'm going to a wedding tonight, so it's going to be a very long night. (and hopefully fun!)

Very cute outfit! Have a great time, and happy new year!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I have such a hard time staying up until midnight (especially since I was at work and up since 5:30). But this year is actually different. We are going to a restaurant owned by a Top Chef winner for a 14 course tasting and an all you can drink menu. Soooo in about 5 minutes I'll be taking a nap! I hope you, the huns, and your pups have a great New Year's Eve!

You are so awesome!!! This is exactly why we're friends. I'm almost positive I will be going to bed tonight before midnight.
ReplyDeletehahaha.. I'll be the same as you Sharon! Staying in after eating dinner with the fam then cuddling with the pup and Hubs drinking mimosas made with cheap champagne. ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a fun New Years Eve!

Happy New Year! I'm staying at home too, much more comfortable ;)
ReplyDeleteDude, you must have been reading my schedule for the night! (Well, I have cheap beer as opposed to cheap champagne, but it's all good.) We're just listening to the neighbors illegally set off fireworks right now, they've got a pretty decent show going on. I hope that you two have had a lovely evening and Happy New Year dear, may it be an awesome one for you.
ReplyDeleteThats a fab outfit for sitting at home eating fried chicken! But I love it!! And going out on NYE is overrated...I stayed in, got my new years kiss, and was in bed at 12:07. You didn't miss much.

This is what I'd call the perfect classic New Year's outfit!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna make my mum read your blog. She's 4'11" (don't know how I ended up about 5'9" haha) and she thinks she can't wear what anyone else is wearing because of her height. If I would believe her, every garment is out to make her look shorter :-D Can't wait to show her your looks and get her inspired.
Love,
Jolien
