Rainy Weekend

It rained the entire weekend. That means I parked myself on the couch under a blanket and watched a whole bunch of tv. And made  mac & cheese out of the box. I've found it's best to hibernate when it rains. At the first rain drop, my hair starts to resemble Monica Geller's Barbados fro. And I can't be seen in public like that!

I was psyched for this Friday's Fancies since stripes are my favorite pattern of all time (see here, here, here etc). I couldn't resist mixing them with florals though. I own this skirt and thought it would be fun to put together something I could create with my own closet...you may just see this outfit come to life soon!

10 things that make me really happy:

1. Statement necklaces, like this gorgeous one I'm wearing! 
2. My hubby. The highlight of my day is always when he comes home from work.
3. Jinx & Oliver. How can you not love their cute furry faces and wagging tails? And they're always happy to see me.
4. The beach. There's nothing like smelling the salt air, listening to the waves crash, and putting your feet in the sand. I'm so lucky to see the ocean every single day.
5. Shopping, my favorite hobby.
6. Summertime. I wish it could stay summer all year long!
7. A whole bunch of new shows waiting for me on the DVR.
8. Dinner at a great restaurant. What can I say, I love to eat!
9. Blogging. I do have days when I blogging seems like a ton of work and frustrates me, but I still always enjoy it.
10. All of you! Everytime someone comments on the blog, sends me an email or a Tweet it makes me happy! 

  

A Day in the Life

 Today I'm doing the Blog Every Day in May challenge...today's is A Day in the Life. Warning: my life during the work week is rather boring and routine!

6:50 AM: Wake up. I'm not one of those people that uses the snooze button...I just get up, even if I don't want to.

7:08-7:20 AM: I get dressed (clothes were picked out the night before...half the time I wind up hating my outfit but don't have time to change). Quickly do my hair which usually means a ponytail/bun and put on makeup. 

7:20-7:35 AM: I take Oliver on a quick walk, feed him, and put him back in his crate so he doesn't destroy the apartment. I eat breakfast which is always a bowl of cereal.

7:40 AM: I leave for work and commute 30 minutes north. This is more enjoyable now in my new car! 

8:10 AM: I arrive at work. I don't need to be here technically till 8:30 but the earlier I get here, the earlier I can go home!

8:10 AM-2:40 PM: Boring work stuff. And reading blogs of course! At 12:30ish I eat lunch at my desk. (I work part time and clock in/out so technically I don't get a lunch break per say).

2:40 PM: Leave work!

3:15 PM: Home! 

3:15-5 PM: As soon as I get home, I take Olls out of the crate and we go for a nice walk. After that I usually finish up the next day's blog post (if it isn't already done), eat a snack, clean up the kitchen, and then relax. If my hubby is going to be home late, I walk Jinx.

5 PMish: I start cooking dinner...I make a lot pasta dishes and anything Italian which is my fav.

5:30-7:30 PM: The hubs come home, we eat dinner, and if it's nice outside, go on a long walk with the dogs. 

8-10 PM: I'm not ashamed to admit I usually park myself on the couch and watch my tv! TV is my relaxation time. In between I get my lunch ready for the next day.

10-10:30 PM: I get ready for bed...I'm usually asleep by 10:30 PM. Anything later than that and I'm exhausted the next day!

Weekend Update

Most of my weekend consisted of this thanks to a nasty cold...

Apparently when you take cold meds before bed you have dreams that Justin Bieber is sending you Tweets. 

Saturday I managed to get out of bed in order to see the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. I was not going to miss an opportunity to see a 27 foot hot dog on wheels.

Sunday I spent the day with my mom. She cooked a huge, delicious brunch including banana stuffed french toast, egg frittata,  eggplant parm, and much much more. Yep, even on Mother's Day she still loves to cater to everyone else!

I dress pretty casually during the week to begin with, but on the weekend I like to be super comfy. This outfit is pretty much my weekend uniform: lightweight scarf, patterned tee, colored skinny jeans, crossbody bag, and comfy shoes. You'll probably find me wearing it in Target dropping 50+ bucks on stuff I don't really need (but convinced myself I do) or drinking a Mocha Frappuccino at Starbucks, two fav places to be on the weekend.
