Mix It Mondays: Neon Lace Sweatshirt

Jacket-Target (similar Old Navy Faux Leather Jacket), Sweatshirt-Target (similar JCPenney Neon Sweatshirt for $18), Old Navy Jeans, Flats-Gap Kids (similar Sam & Libby Bow Flats)

I wore this outfit on the weekend for a casual date at a taco/burrito place. It was a little chilly that night so I reached for my faux leather jacket, layered over a neon sweatshirt. I'm a bit sad that it's already getting to be jacket weather! But I do have to admit that I'm getting a little sick of my summer wardrobe so it's nice to be able to wear other things in my wardrobe that haven't been worn in months.

For Mix It Mondays, I'm remixing my neon lace sweatshirt. I last wore it in the spring with a mint necklace and booties. The sweatshirt is lightweight which makes it easy to wear in more than one season.

Look What I Got: Old Navy Rockstar Denim

Top-Aeropostale (similar Dolce Vita Lace Top), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Pearl Necklace-Vintage, Silver Necklace-Forever 21, Pumps-c/o Oasap (similar Madden Girl Nude Pumps for $39), Clutch-Target (similar Style & Co Clutch)

I spent my Labor Day at the mall, checking out all the sales. When I was in Old Navy, I found these ripped skinny jeans on the clearance rack for just $16. I'm a huge fan of Old Navy's Rockstar denim...I have a bunch of pairs in different colors and washes. The skinny fit is just right and they aren't incredibly long for a petite girl like me (mine are rolled up a bit if you're wondering). I realized I didn't have any distressed skinny jeans in my closet so I scooped these right up!

Local Summer

Romper-c/o (now on sale for $7.49!), Vest-Target (similar Charlotte Russe Denim Vest for $20), Sandals-Target, Bag-Forever Tiff Couture (similar Steve Madden Crossbody Bag)

I know for many people Labor Day means the end of your summer. But when you live at the Jersey Shore, that's not the case...this weekend I was sitting on the beach. It's been really hot and humid lately (even more so than it was during most of August). September is a wonderful time here, since the beach is quiet and no longer crowded aka Local Summer. I no longer have to fight for a parking spot or hit traffic every time I leave the house. I'm just hoping there's still more beach days ahead!

Utility Trend: Summer to Fall Outfit

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, InStyle, Vogue and Elle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #inspirefallfashion

Now that it's September, everyone has fall fashion on their minds! I love reading up on the latest fall trends to get inspiration for the new season. So, I headed to Target for the September ELLE and InStyle magazines. I was pleased to see in ELLE that the Utility trend will still be going strong for fall (seen on the runways of Alexander Wang and Balmain). Think pockets on everything that are both stylish and functional.

The weather might still be warm, but you can incorporate the fall trends into your outfits right now. I paired my utility jacket with a summer dress for a summer to fall transition outfit. Bonus, I already had the utility jacket in my closet. It's nice when a trend lasts more than one season!

Jacket-Old Navy (similar Pink Envelope Utility Jacket for $28), Dress-Target (similar Charlotte Russe Striped Dress for $15), Bag-Target (similar Nine West Crossbody Bag), Flats-KensieGirl (similar Report Diana Flat)

Now through September 13, buy any two fall fashion magazines (Elle, InStyle, and/or Vogue) at Target and get a $5 Target gift card!

Outlet Shopping

Blouse-Ann Taylor Factory (similar The Limited Blouse), Jeans-Old Navy (similar Cheap Monday Denim Pants), Bag-Forever Tiff Couture (similar Steve Madden Quilted Crossbody Bag), Sandals-Target (similar Seychelles Gold Sandals)

This navy blouse was another one of my purchases at the Ann Taylor Factory store. It was just $9.99! I live 10 minutes from an outlet mall. With some of the outlet stores, I've noticed that you really get what you pay for...the quality is not as good as the regular store. It's not even worth the discount. But other stores, like the Ann Taylor outlet, the clothes are well made which means you can save a ton of money.

How do you feel about outlet shopping?

Hairstyles with Head & Shoulders + Sweepstakes!

I was given the opportunity to try out Head & Shoulders Fresh Scent Technology Shampoo and Conditioner in the Green Apple scent. For this line, Head & Shoulders has teamed up with fragrance creators for a water activated fragrance boost. Smell is very important to me when choosing hair products. I want something that will make my hair smell fresh and clean without being overpowering. The Green Apple scent is absolutely heavenly and truly does smell just like a fresh apple. Not only does it smell amazing, but it also leaves you with 100% flake-free hair* (*visible flakes; with regular use). It's the #1 anti-dandruff shampoo used by dermatologists.

I used the Head & Shoulders Shampoo & Conditioner for two different hairstyles. For the first style, after showering I parted my hair down the middle. Then I blow dried it and finished with a flat iron for a sleek look.

For the second style, I put my hair into a low ponytail. Make a hole with the hair above the elastic then flip the ponytail through.

Now for the sweepstakes! Head & Shoulders is giving you the chance to meet Sofia Vergara! Follow @HeadShoulders on Twitter and post a photo of your gorgeous, flake-free hair tagging #PartOfOurFamily #Sweeps and @HeadShoulders. Sweepstakes kicks off Monday, August 18 and will run until September 8. Winner will have the opportunity to meet Sofia at an upcoming Head & Shoulders advertising shoot! Full Sweepstakes rules here:

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Mix It Mondays: Sleeveless Chambray Shirt

Blouse-Old Navy (similar Boden Sleeveless Shirt), Dress worn as Skirt-Forever 21 (similar Charlotte Russe Polka Dot Skirt for $12.50), Wedges-Nordstrom (similar Bandolino Wedges), Clutch-Target (similar Marc Fisher Clutch)

While I was taking these photos, a man walked by and said "are you trying to get on the cover of Vogue?" I laughed since I didn't know what to say. It's awkward enough taking blog photos on the street without strangers making comments! I'd tell them I'm a fashion blogger, but that usually opens it up for more comments.

Today for Mix it Mondays, I'm remixing my sleeveless chambray shirt by wearing it over a dress. I've worn it far more than you've seen on the blog since it goes with pretty much everything. Expect to see me wearing it with a cardigan in the fall! (till it's too cold and I switch to my long sleeve chambray).

I last wore it with my lace shorts:
