Inspired

Tee-Old Navy, Denim Vest-Target (similar Chicnova Denim Vest), Shorts-Rampage, Converse Chuck Taylor Sneakers

When I'm running low on outfit inspiration, the first place I head is Pinterest. I often find cute outfits on Pinterest, but I'm missing that one piece that really completes it. Kinda defeats the purpose of being inspired if you have to go shopping! I was looking for more things to wear my Converse sneakers with and found this pin. I love that the outfit is simple and I already had all the items in my closet: a white tee, denim vest, black shorts (swapped for the pants), and the Chucks!

Emerald Green Cardigan + Navy Dress

Dress-Lulu's (similar Boohoo Skater Dress for $20), Cardigan-Ann Taylor Factory (similar August Silk Cardigan), Belt-H&M, Bag-c/o Massi, Sandals-Target (similar Seychelles Gold Sandals)

This weekend I was at the beach as usual. I can't believe it's already the middle of August. I'm soaking up as much summer as I can! Although lately the weather here has been on the cooler side and sadly it feels like fall may come early this year.

I found this emerald green cardigan on the clearance rack at the Ann Taylor Factory store. It was originally $29.99, reduced to just $12! I plan on wearing it a lot this fall. I paired it with my trusty navy dress which I've remixed over and over. I think navy is even more versatile than a LBD!

Look What I Got: JCrew Factory Jeweled Sweatshirt

JCrew Factory Jeweled Sweatshirt, Pants-H&M Kids, Flats-Gap Kids Outlet (similar Sam & Libby Bow Flats), Bag-H&M (similar Forever 21 White Satchel)

This JCrew Factory jeweled top was one of the things I bought for work. Turns out that my office is actually very casual when it comes to dress code. Many people wear jeans, which I was pleasantly surprised to see. I guess I didn't need to run out and buy new clothes after all...but I think it's always good to dress professional especially when I'm the new employee. I haven't worn jeans just yet since I want to make a good impression!

Romping Around

Romper-c/o Milanoo, Tank Top-Express, Necklace-Gift (similar Statement Necklace), Sandals-American Eagle (similar Fergalicious Flat Sandal), Bag-Botkier (similar Black Satchel)

I'm adding to my growing romper collection with this one from Milanoo. It's supposed to be worn on its own, but I had to add a tank underneath to prevent having a wardrobe malfunction, ha. (I'll let Janet Jackson have that honor). As with all rompers, this one was a bit of a pain to get on/off but it's so cute that it's worth it!

10 Dorm Room Essentials

It's August which means it's almost time for going back to school and back to college. If you're heading to college, getting all the items for your dorm room is necessary for your new home. Walmart has everything you need to get your space set up (isn't it great when you can go to just one store?).

Here are my 10 Dorm Room Essentials:

1. Cute Comforter: Those dorm beds aren't always the comfiest, but at least they can look cute by picking bedding in a fun pattern. I love this polka dot one!

2. Closet Doubler: I used one of these in my dorm room and it really helped to get my whole wardrobe in that tiny closet.

3. Mini Fridge: Sure you have the dining hall, but you'll want to be able to store food in your room too.

4. Flat Screen TV: When I went to college, flat screen TVs were super expensive so I had a regular TV. (It took up so much room!). When you need a break from studying, you'll want a TV in your room.

5. Rug: Dorm rooms usually aren't carpeted, so bring a patterned rug.

6. Desk Lamp: Florescent dorm lightning is not the best. Fix that with a desk lamp.

7. Shoe Rack: Again, the closets are small and if you're a shoe lover, this is a must have.

8. Desk: College may be a lot of fun, but there's also work involved. You'll need a desk for your computer and all your school stuff.

9. Kleenex Expressions Oval Facial Tissue: I'd place these on top of the desk. I love that Kleenex come in this chevron pattern now so they can match your decor!

10. Chair: When friends come over, you'll need extra seating. This chair doesn't take up a lot of room which is perfect in a small space.

All of these items (and many more dorm essentials) can be found at your Walmart!

Mix It Mondays: Black and White Striped Dress

Dress-c/o Choies (similar Ali Ro Striped Dress), Belt-ASOS (similar Leopard Skinny Belt for $8) , Sandals-Target

Thanks to everyone for all your well wishes on my new job (which I started last Monday)! It has definitely been an adjustment working full time again and I've had to squeeze in time to work on the blog. Everyone was very nice and my first week went well. Today I have hospital orientation all day...my office is not in the hospital, but we are part of it and occasionally I will have a patient that I'll be seeing there.

I wore this black and white striped dress outfit to work one day last week. The dress is one of my favorites since you can never go wrong with stripes! I've also worn it with my hot pink bag for a weekend look.

Look What I Got: Navy Pleated Skirt

Blouse-Old Navy (similar Express Sleevless Portofino Shirt), Necklace-Luxe Craving (similar Blu Bijoux Necklace), Skirt-Forever 21 (similar Forever 21 Pleated Skirt), Shoes-Gap Kids (similar Sam & Libby Bow Flats), Bag-H&M (similar Forever 21 Satchel)

Last week I had a bit of a freak out about what to wear to my new job. So naturally I decided to use that as an excuse to go shopping.  I picked up this Forever 21 navy pleated skirt for just $15.80. After buying it, I've realized I have a TON of navy clothes in my closet. But it's okay, since they're all a little different. 50 Shades of Navy.  And I see myself getting use of it in the fall as well, with a sweater and a pair of tights. Totally justified!
